Not far from the center of Tolmin, at Sotočje Beach—named after the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers—you can rent a SUP, mini raft or a kayak and enjoy a pleasant paddle on the Soča River lake, created by the Podselo hydroelectric dam. Just upstream from the beach, the river slows down and flows into the lake, creating calm waters that allow for easy paddling in both directions—all the way to the village of Most na Soči, about 5 kilometers away. There, you can choose to continue a little farther along the Soča River or turn into the scenic Idrijca River canyon, which extends a few kilometers upstream to the train station.
You can also rent a watercraft for a shorter period and explore the immediate surroundings of the beach. SUPs, kayaks, and mini rafts are suitable for river exploration, recreation, or simply relaxing on the water. They are also an excellent choice for families with children, offering a fun and safe way for kids to enjoy the water and connect with nature through play.

WATERCRAFT PICKUP: You can pick up your watercraft at the time selected during the booking process at our rental center on Sotočje Beach (Dijaška ulica 18, 5220 Tolmin). We recommend arriving at the location at least 5 minutes before the start of your reserved rental time, so you have enough time to complete the required paperwork and collect all the equipment.
WATERCRAFT RETURN: Please return the watercraft to our rental center 5 minutes before the end of your rental period.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR WATERCRAFT COLLECTION: 1x personal document (passport, identity card, or EU driver’s license), and the address or name of the accommodation where you are staying.
THE PRICE INCLUDES: Rental of a personal flotation device (PFD), paddle, leash (SUP rental only), and dry bag.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The watercraft must be returned to the same location where it was collected (unless otherwise agreed), 5 minutes before the end of your rental period. In case of delay, additional charges may apply. Upon watercraft pickup, you will need to complete a rental agreement, which must be signed by the person responsible for the rented watercraft.
