Family rafting is a unique experience, specially designed for families with young children. It’s similar to classic rafting, but we use a smaller raft that accommodates up to 6 people plus a guide, and we paddle along the river section from Kamno to Tolmin, which is otherwise used for kayak trips. The river on this stretch is gentler, making it suitable even for the youngest members of the group to enjoy a fun and safe ride through the rapids. Along the way, we’ll take a short break for some refreshing jumps into the river and a slide down the back of the raft — placed against a rock — straight into the water, just like a waterslide! Throughout the rafting trip, you’ll be surrounded by stunning nature and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and mountains.

TRIP DURATION: 2 - 3 h
DIFFICULTY: Beginner
GROUP SIZE: 6 people per guide
MINIMUM AGE AND HEIGHT: The minimum age to join the activity is 8 years, with a height requirement of 120 cm
WHAT DO YOU NEED: Bathing suit, towel, dry clothes (you cannot sit wet in the car), medication (if you need any)
SWIMMING KNOWLEDGE: Family rafting is a water activity, which means that you might end up in the water too deep to stand in, and that's why knowledge of swimming is required
FITNESS LEVEL: A basic level of physical fitness is required

EQUIPMENT

Equipment is of paramount importance when it comes to sports activities such as rafting. It provides comfort and safety to the user, which is why at Azimut Center, we only use the best equipment available on the market. For rafting with us, you only need your swimwear, towel, dry clothes, and sunscreen. We'll take care of everything else. You will receive 6 pieces of equipment: a helmet, 3 mm neoprene long-john wetsuit, PFD (Personal Flotation Device), anorak, neoprene shoes, and a paddle. If you have your own rafting equipment, you can bring it with you to the meeting point (our office) before the scheduled start of the activity. The guide will assess whether your equipment is suitable and safe for use in this activity.

LICENSED GUIDES

Rafting is a beautiful sport — as long as it’s safe. That’s why safety is always our top priority, with fun coming in a close second. To truly enjoy the beauty of rafting on the Soča River, you need a guide who puts your safety first, while also making sure you have fun every step of the way. All of Azimut Center’s rafting guides are professionally trained and certified as whitewater rescuers and IRF raft guides.

Don't worry, it's quite simple! You arrive at our office in Tolmin, where you meet your guide, sign a waiver form, and collect your rafting equipment. Then we will take you to the starting point in the village of Kamno, where your adventure begins! Towels, dry clothes, and other personal items (except passports and larger amounts of money - you can leave them in the office) stay in the van. Everything will await you on the parking spot at the end of the trip in Tolmin. There, you change into dry clothes, and we drive you back to our office.
